A Great Day for Empowerment!
AGives! and Associated Grocers partnered with United Way for United We Feed’s Women Empowering Women Event on March 13, 2025. Held at BREC’s Milton J. Womack Park, the event featured empowerment speakers, including a Healthcare specialist who answered anonymous health questions from women, financial specialists, Breakout Sessions including resume writing/Applying for Jobs, Interview Skills, and a Cooking Demonstration. Multiple companies and organizations were in attendance for the women to visit their table and receive additional information.
Deputy Wanda August from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office kicked off the morning with an uplifting message and got the crowd moving to Walking on Sunshine! Each participant received an inspirational keepsake and left with a bag filled with fresh produce and grocery items to recreate the Tuscan Chicken Pasta & Fresh Salad demonstrated at the event.
Thank you to all the volunteers and partners who made this day possible! Together, we packed 175 grocery bags and helped uplift and support the incredible women in our community.
