The wait is over! Associated Grocers held its first Employee Cornhole event on Thursday, June 29th. Over the last couple of months, employees have teamed up to play Cornhole within their departments to form a bracket to play against other AG-winning departmental teams. Retail Operations’ Chris Ordoyne and Corey Hughes slid into first place with the winner’s trophy, and of course…bragging rights!
Special guests, Cornhole League Pro’s Ricky Cantin and Koby Costanza were on hand, for special segments of “Toss with a Pro”, whereas employees were able to head to the court and play amongst the pros. Cantin, a veteran player is excited to see where the pastime is headed. “I’m hoping it will be an Olympic sport soon,” he said. “There is definitely a youth movement going on, with a lot of young people taking over, and I’m here for it.” Costanza is one of those leaders, as he is the 2021 College National Champion.
Johnsonville brought the heat, grilling up on-site three signature flavors of sausage, Original, Hot, and Spicy, and Cheddar Beer Bratwurst. ”We were honored when asked to assist in Associated Grocers’ Employee July 4th Cornhole event!,” said Traci Hedrick, Retail Business Manager, Gulf Coast. “We always pride ourselves in serving local communities and our loyal customers. The opportunity to foster this strong relationship with a growing customer like Associated Grocers’, is a testament to the company’s dedication to creating memorable moments and deepening connections with its members. We were honored to support the hard-working members that assist in growing the Johnsonville brand within the southern market.”
