Associated Grocers turned up the heat on Thursday, October 29, 2026, during its annual Associated Grocers Chili Championship Cook-off, bringing team members together for a flavorful afternoon of friendly competition and community fundraising.
For a $10 donation, attendees sampled chili creations from seven talented cooking teams and cast their votes for their favorite recipes. Ragin’ Cajun also provided delicious chili for everyone to enjoy, adding even more spice to the event.
Taking home the coveted aluminum paddle trophy and a $150 AG gift card was Team Forklift Fuel, featuring Dwayne Anthony and Gilbert Vallian from Wholesale Operations. Their winning recipe earned top honors among creative competitors, each bringing a unique flavor profile to the competition.
Claiming second place was Team Rammin’ Hot, made up of Retail Account Managers Oren Deroche and Jeanne Langlois. The duo received a Ragin’ Cajun gift basket and a $50 AG gift card for their runner-up entry.
The fall festivities also featured a Decorate Your Pumpkin Contest, where Melanie Lala (RSA) showcased the winning pumpkin design, “Campside Snacks,” taking home a $75 AG gift card.
Proceeds from the event benefited AGives!, Associated Grocers’ 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate, directly supporting charitable initiatives throughout the local community.
