The American Heart Association hosted its annual Heart Walk in downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 25, bringing together community members for a meaningful cause. Despite early morning rain, participants gathered at Rhorer Plaza ready to walk in support of heart health. As the weather cleared, the event became a powerful display of resilience, awareness, and community spirit.
The Heart Walk serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease, celebrate survivors, and honor those who have lost their lives. Throughout the morning, walkers shared stories, supported one another, and united behind a mission that impacts so many families.
Associated Grocers and AGives! were proud sponsors of the event, serving as the nutrition tent sponsor and sole water sponsor. Their support helped keep participants energized and hydrated, while also reinforcing the importance of healthy living.
As a cooperative, Associated Grocers is committed to supporting the communities it serves. Through AGives!, the organization focuses on giving back and promoting wellness—making events like the Heart Walk a natural reflection of its values and dedication to community impact.
