(Baton Rouge, LA) The 2021 Associated Grocers GMRA Scholarship Fund recipients were recently announced. The Associated Grocers/GMRA partnership scholarship program benefits students working within Associated Grocers retail member stores. The Grocery Manufacturers Representatives Association (GMRA) is a nonprofit organization formed in Louisiana to bring grocery manufacturers and retailers together. The selected recipients will receive $1,000 the first year ($500 per semester), and then $3,000 for each of the following 3 years ($1,500 per semester) that they remain working within an Associated Grocers member store. That is up to $10,000!
This year we congratulate the following outstanding students:
Logan Fernandez
Logan works at Claiborne Hill Supermarket in Waveland, MS. He graduated from Bay High School and is attending East Mississippi community college and studying forensic science. Logan plans on becoming a forensic scientist for the state of Mississippi.
Vincent Granito
Vincent works at Canseco’s Market in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Jesuit High School and attends Loyola University of New Orleans and majoring in Music Industry Studies.
Miranda Landry (right, middle)
Miranda works at Midway Grocery in Donaldsonville, LA. She graduated from Ascension Catholic High School and attends Franciscan University. Miranda plans to pursue a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
Dawson LeBlanc (left, 2nd from right)
Dawson works at Bourque’s Supermarket in Port Barre, LA. He graduated from Port Barre High School and attends the University of Louisiana at Lafayette He will major in Computer Science.
Deldrick Patin (right,middle)
Deldrick works at Bet-R Neighborhood Market in Baton Rouge, LA. He is a graduate of Broadmoor High School and is in his second semester at Baton Rouge Community College.
