(Baton Rouge, LA) Associated Grocers, Inc. has supplied Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, The Salvation Army, and Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (Fran U) with over $175,000 in cleaning and disinfectant inventory items. That is 97 pallets, equivalent to 4 truckloads, totaling 2,008 cases! These essential products included disinfectant spray, anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer as well as toilet tissue.
“Although we’re in a different phase from what we’ve seen during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for these essential items is still there,” stated
Mike Bove, Vice President, Category Manager & Procurement, Associated Grocers, Inc. “The Associated Grocers team donated these healthcare items to organizations that would benefit greatly from the supply.” Over the course of two weeks, AG’s trucks hit the road to make a few heartfelt deliveries.
“Some people don’t have the resources to purchase these items in stores,” remarked Shawnda Barrow, client services liaison for Cancer Services. “Cancer patients experience so many needs throughout their journey and it’s important for them to maintain clean environments as a part of their healing.”
