A group of about a dozen volunteers stand with bags in front of bins at an event to help empower women.

Associated Grocers, AGives!, and United Way team members partnered to pack produce bags for the Women United, Women Empowering Women event. The bags were assembled at AG prior to Thursday’s empowerment event and distributed to attendees. The produce went hand in hand with a cooking demonstration, presented by The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

The event opened with a powerful “Girl on Fire” message from returning empowerment Speaker, Deputy Wanda August of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Breakout Sessions focused on interview Skills, resume writing and job applications. March is Women’s History Month.
