Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important time to come together, learn, and show support for those impacted by breast cancer. Employees at Associated Grocers did just that during this year’s AG Goes Pink initiative.
AG Goes Pink Raises Breast Cancer Awareness Across the Company
Employees showed their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink on Monday, October 26, as part of Associated Grocers’ AG Goes Pink initiative.
The event featured an informative breast cancer awareness session with Dr. Mindy Bowie, MD, Breast Surgical Oncologist, who shared valuable information about personal risk factors, the importance of regular screenings, survivorship programs, and available patient resources. Her engaging presentation encouraged employees to learn more about breast cancer prevention and early detection.
Employees also heard a heartfelt personal story from Richard Boyd, Director of HBC/GM and Merchandising Services, who shared his wife’s breast cancer journey and presented a storyboard illustrating their experience.
Attendees received breast cancer awareness reminder ducks, AG Goes Pink ribbons, and a dozen roses courtesy of the perishable team. Door prizes included AG Pink Polo gift certificates for the Pop-Up Shop, a golf umbrella, and tailgate chairs.
The event was a meaningful opportunity for employees to learn, connect, and show support for those affected by breast cancer while promoting the importance of awareness and regular screenings.
