We had a ball!
Associated Grocers held an Employee Hoop Fest on Thursday, March 23, 2023. The event was a contest for employees to see how many hoops they could make within the categories of their choice: Lay Up’s, 3 Pointers, and Free Throws. 86 employees submitted a card to play, with around 100 total people taking their shot.
Throughout the month (until April 7th) there is an ongoing promotion at Associated Grocers retail stores for March Madness, in which great deals on select items from our Family of Brands are being offered. The employee event at Associated Grocers’ corporate office was a fun way to tie-in the theme happening at retail, as well as bring an awareness of the highly popular private label brands, Food Club and Crav’n.
Although this event is the first of its kind held on Associated Grocers’ own basketball court (which is approaching its first year since installation), the company has had Employee Basketball tournaments yearly. At the beginning of Hoop Fest, one of the longest reigning team champions of the Basketball tournaments, “The Panthers” were surprised with a banner unveiling on the court, acknowledging the victory that spans from 2009-2022.
