The 2023 Associated Grocers GMRA Scholarship Fund recipients were recently announced. The Associated Grocers/GMRA partnership scholarship program benefits students working within Associated Grocers retail member stores. The Grocery Manufacturers Representatives Association (GMRA) is a nonprofit organization formed in Louisiana to bring grocery manufacturers and retailers together. The selected recipients will receive $1,000 the first year ($500 per semester), and then $3,000 for each of the following 3 years ($1,500 per semester) that they remain working within an Associated Grocers member store. That is up to $10,000!
This year we congratulate the following outstanding students:

Brooklyn Cady (photo to the right)
Brooklyn works at Champagne’s in Carencro, LA. She graduated from Beau Chene High School, where she was part of the Student Council Club. Brooklyn attends Louisiana State University- Eunice and has future plans to pursue a career in radiology.

Breanna Chapman (photo to the left)
Breanna works at Carter’s Supermarket in Denham Springs, LA, and graduated from Denham Springs High School with honors. As the current Social Media Manager for Local Leaders, The Podcast, Breanna is preparing for a future in the film industry to one day edit, film, and act in movies. She now attends Louisiana State University and is pursuing a degree in Screen Arts production.

Allison Hedrick (photo to the right)
Allison works at Matherne’s Market at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. She is a student at Louisiana State University where she is a double major in Vocal Performance and Communication Disorders and Sciences. Allison is an active member of the musical theatre club at LSU, and during her high school tenure was accepted into the All-State Honor Choir three times and awarded The Most Outstanding Musician award twice. Her future plan is to get her master’s degree in Speech Pathology and work as a voice pathologist in a clinical setting.

Trent Landry (photo to the left)
Trent works at Midway Grocery in Donaldsonville, LA. He is a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School, where he was in the National Honor Society for three years, and part of the Academic All-State Class Team 2022 (Football). He will attend Nicholls State University, where he plans to study Geomatics (land surveying).

Caroline Marcel (photo to the right)
Caroline works at Marcel’s Supermarket in Houma, LA and is a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School. Working in a grocery store has been a path to Caroline’s natural enthusiasm for nutritional labels and diet. She plans to major in Biology at Nicholls State University.

Emily Marcel (photo to the left)
Emily works at Marcel’s Supermarket in Houma, LA and is a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School. Her retail experience helps sharpen her communication skills, which she will find helpful as she pursues an English degree at Nicholls State University.

Eli St. Germain (photo to the right)
Eli works at Pierre Part Store in Pierre Part, LA and is a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School. He has excelled as a Beta Club and National Honors Society member and was part of both the Varsity Tennis and Powerlifting teams. Eli plans to major in Cyber Engineering at Louisiana Tech University.

Braeden St. Pierre (photo to the left)
Braeden works at Delaune’s Supermarket in St. Amant, LA, and is a graduate of Dutchtown High School. Increasing the use of social media and working on additional marketing strategies within the grocery industry to reach all demographics has helped facilitate his career pathway.
Braeden attends Southeastern University where he is majoring in Marketing.

Joey Zeringue (photo to the right)
Joey works at Murray’s Market in St. Amant, LA, and is a graduate of St. Amant High School. He is a member and current vice president of the 4-H Ascension Parish Chapter, served as a member of the Beta Club in the high school chapter, spent three years on the St. Amant High wrestling team, and holds achievements in the band. Joey is majoring in engineering at Louisiana Tech University.

Stevie Campagna (photo to the left)
Stevie works at Oak Point Fresh Market in Greenwell Springs, LA. She is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and lettered all four years on the volleyball team. Stevie is studying Biology at Louisiana State University to become a dentist.
