Associated Grocers Holds its Spring Food Show Event and Provides 24,140 lbs. of Food to The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank
(Gonzales, LA) Associated Grocers, Inc. held its Spring Food Show for member retailers at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Themed “Mission Possible”, the event drew just over 1,200 attendees including vendors, manufacturers, retail members, and store representatives. Associated Grocers, Inc. (AG) hosted the event which featured new items, merchandising ideas, and current services available to its retailers. The night prior, Tuesday, April 25th, the company hosted retailers, vendors, and employees serving 2,200 lbs. of boiled crawfish, Prime Rib, Jambalaya, Short Ribs, Fried Fish and Shrimp, Beef Tenderloin Sliders, Boudin Balls, Crawfish Cornbread, Tri-Tip Roast and a variety of desserts. The band, The Mixed Nuts were awesome from beginning to end, entertaining guests during the social event.
For Associated Grocers, this event was also a great opportunity in which the company was able to impact the community with bulk food, product, and floral donation. “The impact of such a large food donation from our Food Show to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is humbling,” remarked Roeshawn Peters, Associated Grocers Corporate Marketing Manager. “Associated Grocers was able to donate an incredible 24,140 pounds of food which is equivalent to 20,116 meals to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank! The continued support of our retailers and vendor partners makes this all possible.”
In addition, all of the flowers at the show were packed up and delivered by the AG team to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals in Gonzales and the Baton Rouge area.
